I became an orthopedic spine nurse practitioner because I am interested in how your nerves, muscles and bones work. Working with patients to achieve their goals and get back to the activities that matter most to them is what drew me to career as an orthopedic spine nurse practitioner. Additionally, I have been an orthopedic sport and surgical patient myself and draw from these experiences.

As an acute care nurse practitioner, I have specialized training in the management and treatment of hospitalized patients as well as those in the clinic environment. I evaluate, diagnose, and treat various orthopedic spine injuries and conditions. I place a high value on communication, listening to and educating my patients as I believe that this is a critical component of their diagnosis and treatment. I take a holistic approach in the treatment of my patients, believing that each patient is unique and by knowing their story, I can better work with them to serve their healthcare needs.

My area of specialty is the spine which includes the neck and back. I work with Dr. Tseng in the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of patients through non-operative and operative techniques.

Nurse Practitioner Role

As a nurse practitioner, I help provide effective and timely medical care. I take medical histories, examine patients, order and interpret laboratory test and imaging studies such as X-rays and MRIs, as well as diagnose and treat patients. I also prescribe medications, treat minor injuries and assist in orthopedic surgeries.

When I’m not seeing patients, I enjoy spin, yoga and ballet, spending time with my husband, our pets, family and friends. In addition, I am an active member of the California Association of Nurse Practitioners.
