About Dr. Peatman
He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California, Berkeley. He earned his medical degree at the University of California, Irvine, and then completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Dr. Peatman joined the U.S. Navy during residency, and served for five years afterwards. He was stationed in Naples, Italy, Pensacola, FL, and Jacksonville, FL. These five years were oriented primarily to sports medicine, though he also practiced general orthopedics and flight surgery/aviation medicine.
Dr. Peatman maintains expertise in all aspects of sports medicine. Having spent 4-years as one of the orthopedic physicians for the Oakland A’s baseball team has kept Dr. Peatman up-to-date in the ever evolving field of sports medicine. He brings the same skills to the weekend athlete that he uses on Golden Glovers.
Dr. Peatman is skilled in knee, hip, and shoulder arthroscopic surgery, and he provides leading-edge options in joint replacement, including the anterior approach (MIS) to the hip, hip resurfacing, and partial knee replacement. Additionally, he offers platelet-rich plasma as a nonsurgical treatment method. This entails use of a person’s blood to treat an injury.
