About Dr. Hasan
BACKGROUND
Dr. Hasan was born in New York City and obtained his bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from Cornell University, graduating summa cum laude. He continued his medical education at the State University of New York – Stony Brook School of Medicine and received his M.D. degree with Honors, being elected into Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA), medicine’s highest honor society. Dr. Hasan completed his internship in Surgery and residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the prestigious Hospital for Joint Diseases at New York University School of Medicine, one of the top orthopedic training programs in the United States. He then completed a combined fellowship in Orthopedic and Neurosurgical Spinal Surgery at the historic Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles where he trained in cutting edge techniques including motion preservation procedures such as disc replacement as well as minimally invasive treatment of scoliosis. Dr. Hasan is the first fellowship trained full-endoscopic spine surgeon in the United States; he completed an advanced minimally-invasive and endoscopic spine surgery fellowship in the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Washington Seattle and is fully trained in the use of endoscopic techniques for the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine. Dr. Hasan has a clinical research focus on motion preservation, minimally invasive and endoscopic spine surgical techniques and has authored over 50 peer-reviewed publications, scientific abstracts and textbook chapters and serves as a reviewer for several journals in spine surgery and orthopaedics.
