Matt has been working in the sports medicine, Athletic Training/Physical Therapy field for over 20 years. Matt joined the Webster Physical Therapy Team in 2009. In 1997, Matt received a BS degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Athletic Training from California State University, Hayward, where he was on the Honors List, and received the Helen C. Jacobsen scholarship for academic excellence and creativity. He began working for his mentor, Donald Chu, Phd, PT, ATC, CSCS in 1996 in Castro Valley, California. Here is where he developed his love for Athletic Training/Sports Medicine, as he was able to work with world class athletes from the NFL, NHL, USA Olympic Boxing, NBA, USA Olympic Track and Field, as well as local Universities, High Schools, and weekend warriors. Matt spent several years working as an Assistant Athletic Trainer for De La Salle High School during the mid 1990's where he was able to experience one of the longest winning streaks in sports. Matt currently is an instructor in the Ohlone College Physical Therapist Assistant program located in Newark, CA, where he has taught Upper and Lower extremity courses since 2006. He also serves on the Advisory Board for the Ohlone College PTA program.
