Mai Katayama, PT Aide

Born and raised on a small island in Japan. Mai graduated with her B.S. in International Business from SFSU and attained her associate’s degree in Physical Therapist Assistant from Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts in 2020 .

As a fitness trainer and a corrective exercise specialist since 2015, her emphasis is educating each patient with the importance of proper posture during each exercise and daily life. Her personal goal is for everyone to continue exercising even after injury recovery and make it as a weekly habit to maintain proper muscle balance.

Mai truly cares about each patient and is always learning to improve her teaching and manual techniques skill to maximize treatment with each patient. 

For leisure, she enjoys dancing Cuban salsa, going for hikes and teaching exercises to her family and friends.
